...from fast food that is!
#89. No fast food for 1 month
I made it 30 days without pulling up into a drive-thru and it was more difficult than I thought it would be! Not because I truly crave fast food, but because of the convenience factor. Sometimes, I don't get off work til 8 or 9 at night, and I live 30 minutes away. I don't always feel like cooking when I get home, but I pass all of my favorite fast food restaurants on the way to the house. It was hard because fast food restaurants surround me!
So now that I've made it 30 days, i could TECHNICALLY eat fast food now, but that wasn't the deal I made. I agreed to give up fast food for 40 days for Lent, so I've got another 6 days I need to stay sober.
You would think I would feel more healthy after a fast-food fast, but I actually feel the same. I've had an upper respiratory infection and allergy issues for the past 3 or 4 weeks so I really haven't been running too much in preparation for the Cooper River Bridge Run this Saturday.
So if you pass a tiny asian girl decked out in breast cancer awareness attire passed out at the 6 mile marker, please pick me up and carry me the rest of the way!!!
This is a list of 99 goals I'd like to accomplish in the next 999 days, some big, most small. Two and a half years is a short amount of time, so this is not my complete bucketlist but it's a start! My first of these goals is to inspire my followers to make their next 999 days the most exciting and start a '99 in 999' of their own.

#41. Learn a new sport
YEAAAA DISC GOLF! I told my mom about playing with my friend Stephen and she had never heard of the sport before. Basically you play with different shaped/weighted discs that are smaller and heavier than frisbees. It's like playing golf, there's 18 holes and most of them around Columbia are par 3 but instead of a hole, you're aiming for a metal goal about 200 or so feet away. The rules are pretty much the same too though if you've ever played any game with me, you know i tend to play by my own rules, and in my made up rules it's not how many throws it takes to get there, but the speed in which you do it!
Maybe one day I'll be so lucky to throw an ace like this guy!
In other news: I'm about halfway through Lent and halfway closer to reuniting with fast food! My Arby's cravings are growing stronger every day. March 28th- please come swiftly!

Revisions
A big change in my life calls for a few changes to my list. I've edited a few and added one that will be quite rewarding: Spend a morning meditating on the beach

A little inspiration goes a long way
#1. Inspire someone to create a 99 in 999 list of their own
The first of my 99 goals is complete thanks to a real cool new friend, Chris! **Thanks Chris, good luck completing and pursuing your 99 list!!!** If he lets me, I'll post a link to his list so he too may inspire some of my other followers to make a 99 in 999 of their own.
#54. Give up something for Lent
I have never actually given anything up for the entire 40 days of Lent, and it seems I'm having alot of trouble completing a certain goal to resist fast food for 30 days, so I'm gonna kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I've decided to give up fast food so it's already marked as "complete." Making it to the end, however, is a different story. But wish me luck! I will definitely need it
.....China Palace isn't fast food, is it??! If it doesn't have a drive-thru it's ok, right??!
This is going to be a LONG 40 days

Induction to the UFO Club
#22. Try 50 new beers at Flying Saucer
Erin and I went to flying saucer last night for pint night and signed up for the UFO club. This keeps track of how many beers you've had and won't count repeats (which is a good thing for me) because anyone who has gone to bars with me knows I am not one to branch out...budweiser, budlight, or soco and coke are always my only choices. Saucer is known for the wide range of beer on tap and I figured what better place to get me to branch out!
So we got the shirt (YEA!) and had our first three last night. Still being a person to stick with what she knows, I ordered a beer that's already tried and true. New Belgium fat tire..verdict: good beer! Then an Allagash white. NOT a fan. Then a Sweetwater blue..verdict: ehh, indifferent?
Here's a random fact: out of all 5 senses, the sense of smell stays in our memory longest. Whenever I smell something, I'm always associating it with something from my childhood.
So last night when I smelled this Allagash white, it smelled exactly like a wicker basket! Weird, yes, but I thought of all the times I went to Waccamaw with my mom as a kid- which has since gone out of business. Sad to say, the taste was not as fond as the memory. The Sweetwater blue smelled like a bathroom air freshner. Didn't taste too bad, but couldn't help thinking about the bathroom at Bey's when I drank it!
I've added a box on the right to keep track of my beer and wine list just because it's easier than logging into the beerknurd website. Along with really cheesy icons to let you know how I felt about them
Three beers is all they allow you to log in one night so we'll be making a trip again in the very near future. Stay tuned...
