It's been hard to read for pleasure since classes started and it's crunch time for me now. I've got papers due every week, multiple projects going on at once, and still working 30 or so hours a week...so you can imagine what little down time I have, I want to spend outside, or with Stephen....or just mindlessly drooling, not reading! But I have forced myself to take a little bit of time each day to finish a book I purchased 2 YEARS ago.
A million little pieces- James Frey
This is the book that caused much controversy a few years ago when Oprah's book club bashed it and had it taken off the shelves. The author was not entirely truthful in his autobiographical account of his drug addiction and recovery--many parts were made up because he was out of it and does not recall, at times, what really happened. IMO, it didn't detract from the book at all, I still enjoyed it immensely. The book was re-released with a note from Frey explaining the situation and apologizing for the misrepresentation.
Whether or not you've read it, I would be interested to hear your opinion on the book that caused such an uproar!
